This committee recruits room parents for every
classroom. The responsibilities of a room parent include
organizing the Halloween and Valentine's Day parties for the classroom.
They are also responsible for conducting a phone chain in cases of
school closings.The highlight of Whiteley's Halloween classroom
parties is the "Parade of Costumes".
The children walk from the kindergarten doors,
past the school entrance and re-enter the school through the gym
entrance. Families are invited to view the parade at any point
along the route and take pictures.
Valentine's Day parties begin at 2 p.m. and donations of baked
goods and other items can be dropped off that morning.
