What is The Manna Program?
The Manna Program was established in 1989 to provide a fundraising
opportunity to non-profit organizations at no extra cost to
participating families. Manna serves our PTA and many other
organizations by purchasing large volume of “scrip” (gift
cards/certificates) from participating vendors at the highest available
discount. Their scrip is then offered to our PTA at a discount.
Participating families purchase the scrip at full face value and our PTA
immediately makes a profit. The discounts range from two to thirty
percent depending on the volume discount offered from each vendor. The
scrip offered is the exact same gift cards/certificates that you would
purchase directly from the participating vendors.
How does
Manna help our school?
By purchasing the scrip at a discounted price and selling the gift
cards/certificates at face value, everyone wins. Participating families
receive an even trade for their money and our school makes a profit.
For example, if you regularly shop at Jewel, you can purchase a $25 gift
certificate at face value and Whiteley PTA will make a 4% profit on that
sale because we were able to purchase the certificates at a 4% discount
through Manna. It’s as simple as that.
How do I
participate in Manna?
You will receive an order form early in the school year. You can simply
order gift cards/certificates for your usual favorite places and your
school will benefit. Manna orders are great for gift giving as well.
The gift cards/certificates are exactly the same as the ones you would
purchase directly from the vendors. It’s a simple way to help raise
money for your school. Start your holiday shopping early this year!
